Human Resource Development is the framework for helping students develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities so as to enhance their personality as well as help them get placed in an excellent organization. BGS Group of Technical Institutions, Karnataka is one of the very few colleges where the concept of HRD has been implemented and proved successful. The HR Department is sincerely working to empower students with various qualities and skills to achieve professional and personal excellence. The HRD is playing a major role in articulating the students to the needs of the industry. They are informed about the need for maintaining good academic scores and are motivated regularly to achieve the same. Training program and industry related seminars are routine and the students are exposed to these program from the very first day they step into the college. These programs along with mock tests, both offline and online, have been made mandatory and evaluation procedures are followed which are in line with those required by the corporate world. They are being prepared to be individuals with logical and analytical skills and with excellent practical knowledge.

The HRD Department at BGSGTI (Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust®) headed by Prof. Gurucharan Singh – Dean-Corporate Affairs, HR & Training, recognizes the need for imparting proper, streamlined and industry oriented training and as such actively organizes need-based short and long term programs on a regular basis. In order to enable the students to get an insight into the industry, the HRD Department also organizes technical and HR related lectures and seminars with the assistance of the core group from the respective industries. The HRD Department also believes in industry collaboration and has been successful in organizing pre-induction programmes for those selected engineers to be conducted in the campus itself. The Department has also achieved success in Corporate Training and Competency Mapping. It has initiated various time and money saving measures for the Corporates. It has been instrumental in creating avenues for faculty and student interaction between the various engineering colleges.

The HRD Department at BGSGTI strongly believes in engineering young minds to be disciplined, dedicated and determined so that in future they will confidently, capably and undoubtedly steer organizations towards growth, prosperity and excellence dynamically!

Prof. Gurucharan Singh

Prof Gurucharan Singh is presently working as Dean-Corporate Affairs, HR and Training in the BGS Group of Technical Institutions which is a conglomerate of engineering institutions, polytechnics and degree colleges. He completed his BE from UVCE, Bangalore and then went on to specialize in HR. He has about 32 years of experience out of which he has spent around 20 years with the Government of Karnataka in various positions.

He is a firm believer of HRM Concepts incorporated in the training and development of students and has developed effective and proven modules for training of engineering, degree and diploma students. He has around 10 years experience in corporate interaction, placements and training. He has been instrumental in organizing mammoth pooled campus drives in which students from across the country have participated and obtained offers.

He was presented with the Performing Minds Award 2012 -13 ( Best Placement Officer Award) for the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar in the National Employability Conclave held in January 2013. He was also awarded by M/s Rangrut Services for his efforts put in to provide careers to a large number of students.

 

As part of SJCIT’s mission to augment the supply of Quality Engineers to Industries, the Placement & Training department has provided Placement over 383 Engineers (2010& 2011 Batch) in the last Academic year 2011– 2012, in various core sectors such as Information Technology, Manufacturing, Infrastructure development and the Services through Campus recruitment and alumni contact.
