Dr. Chandra Mohan H K, Associate Director, BGS R&D Centre, is an accomplished academician and researcher in the field of Mechanical Engineering, at SJC Institute of Technology, Chickaballapur. With 15 years of teaching experience, he has a keen interest in Composite Materials and Cellulose Nano Fibres. His research contributions include 18 publications in refereed journals and 8 conference papers, focusing on MMC, fiber reinforced composites and mechanical properties. Dr. Mohan has received accolades such as the Best Teacher and fetched Research Grants Award in 2022, 2023, and 2024 from SJCIT, a Certificate of Appreciation from QS I Gauge in 2019, Best Paper Award in 2018 and Best Paper Presentation Award in 2013. He is also a member of the AMIE professional body and guided 14 M.Tech projects with an additional number currently being supervised for 02 PhDs. Dr. Chandra Mohan has been instrumental in securing 25 Lakhs in funded projects. Also, he is working with Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru under the sanctioned TARE project from SERB, Govt. of India.

Also Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises ( MSME), Government of India as sanctioned Rs. 45.0 Lakhs to establish Technology Business Incubator(TBI) under the scheme ‘A Scheme for Promotion of Innovation, Rural Industry and Entrepreneurship’ (ASPIRE). We have received Rs.36.0 Lakhs till date and the college has a matching grant contribution of Rs. 36.0 Lakhs to create lab facilities and for incubation activities.
Our incubation center is recognized as an approved Business Incubator (BI) / Host Institutions (HI), having Registration Number HIBIKR000278 under the Scheme of Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of MSME’s through incubators of Ministry of MSME, Government of India. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Government of India has sanctioned Rs.46.0 Lakhs for setting of DAE Technologies Display and Dissemination Facility (DTDDF) at our college.
BGS SIF has received grants from the State as well as Central Governments for the Research and Development and for Incubation activities.

The college is situated on Bangalore – Hyderabad National Highway-NH7, 45 kms from Bangalore city about, 20 kms from Kempe Gowda International Airport (Bangalore International Airport) and about 5 kms from Muddenahalli, the birth place of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The famous hill resort Nandi hill is about 15 kms from the college.
