Physics Department
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Department of Physics was established in 1986 and is one among the basic sciences. The main objective of the Physics Department is to impart basic education to the engineering students. An experienced and highly motivated staff has shouldered to carry out their mission and also impart engineering and technological Knowledge of high quality to the students. The engineering physics laboratory is well equipped with sophisticated instruments. The department has BGS R&D center recognized by VTU, Belagavi and 10 research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. The R&D lab is having required infrastructure to carry out the research projects in the field of Material Science and Nanoscience. The Department also received the grants from funding agencies like DST, VGST and AICTE to carry out the research oriented projects.
- Blending Physics concepts with cutting edge technologies in Engineering disciplines.
- Training students with the concepts of oscillations, waves, lasers, quantum mechanics and electrical conductivity to apply in their respective discipline.
- Inculcating students with systematic and research approach on material characterization techniques.
- Encouraging students to take up innovative ideas in applied Physics with experimentation.
