Kannada Rajyotsava Day is celebrated every year on November 1st. Karnataka was formed on this day, hence this day is also known as Kannada Day, Karnataka Formation Day or Karnataka Day. Rajyotsava means the birth of a state. In 1956, a state was created by merging all the Kannada speaking regions in India, which was named as Karnataka. The spoken language was Kannada. This day is declared as a state holiday. The people of Karnataka celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava Day with great pomp.
